Peru – #Lima

September 12, 2011 Leave a comment Go to comments

Our holiday in Peru was an amazing time away. It is a great country to visit, with spectacular scenery on a scale we just don’t see here in NZ. The andes were awe-inspiring, and it was incredible to trek through what felt like unspoiled wilderness that had a history dating back over 1000 years. We came away with over 2000 photos, so I have whittled them down, and picked a few from each part of Peru to show. For those that know me on Facebook, you can see the albums that I have put up there. I’ve had to separate each section out to an individual post because of the way WordPress works, which is a bit frustrating.

First up is Lima, its a drab city, cloaked in a formless grey sky for 7 months of the year. They say the Spanish arrived in the summer and made it the capitol. Had they arrived in the winter, they may have second thought that. We were here for 3 nights only, we really only used it as a jet lag recovery leg, as a city, its not too much to write home about.
