Upcoming TV appearance on 20/20

Just a quick note for those who are interested, 20/20 are doing a third follow up on myself, Hannah, and now Elise. The follow up started last year when we announced our pregnancy, and then subsequently caught the events that followed including bad news scans, radiotherapy, and the give-a-little campaign.

The reporter, Emma Keeling, has written a blog post (which is very flattering) about it which can be seen HERE, along with a 30 second excerpt from some of the interviews.

The segment will air on February 20th, 9.30pm on TV2. I will put up the on demand link on the blog after it airs.

All the cool people will be watchingโ€ฆ.. ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Jared and Hannah – What a beautiful story … Thank you for sharing yourselves with anyone who chooses to watch and listen… Incredibly generous ๐Ÿ™‚ my heart and prayers go out to you as you welcome each fresh new day wondering if it will be your last together on this earth. What a joy to have wee Elise to delight in. I can’t even imagine the challenges you have faced and will face but I do thank you for your honesty and your witness to God’s love and presence in your life. I trust many will be encouraged and get to know God through Jesus as a result of your honesty. Bless you three. Fiona

Wow your story is amazing, you have such strength to go through all you have and still have the outlook that you do. I saw your story on 20/20 last night, your daughter is adorable, your wife brave, and you, courageous, to share your story with everyone is amazing.
Thank you, and keep sharing, we’ll all keep believing for you.

Also enjoyed your show last night. Showed a great attitude in everything you are facing. Not a criticism, just a query…there was maybe some decision that you would not mention God or your faith in the programme 9or did I miss it)? Just wondering what your thinking was behind that.

The short answer is that I don’t have editorial control of the story and whether or not those comments are included is beyond my control. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Jared, our family has walked the same path. My husband was given a 5% chance at making 5 years with pancreatic and he made it to just over 6 years with some really good surgeries and going back for more chemo every time. But more than that just a really positive outlook, not hoping to beat it just living with it. We used to read your blog when you were at 50 rounds and we were beating you at 57. Good luck with your journey, so pleased you got to be a dad along the way.
