Upcoming TV appearance on 20/20

February 17, 2014 20 comments

Just a quick note for those who are interested, 20/20 are doing a third follow up on myself, Hannah, and now Elise. The follow up started last year when we announced our pregnancy, and then subsequently caught the events that followed including bad news scans, radiotherapy, and the give-a-little campaign.

The reporter, Emma Keeling, has written a blog post (which is very flattering) about it which can be seen HERE, along with a 30 second excerpt from some of the interviews.

The segment will air on February 20th, 9.30pm on TV2. I will put up the on demand link on the blog after it airs.

All the cool people will be watching…..  🙂

Billboard Controversy

March 1, 2012 3 comments

An article screened on Campbell Live on Monday night about a ‘Jesus Heals Cancer’ Billboard outside a church in Napier which you can see here.

This obviously caused a little bit of controversy from both sides of the argument. Radio Rhema, with whom I have done interviews with in the past were interested in interviewing me about it yesterday morning.

For those who are interested, you can hear it here.

Good Morning Interview

October 20, 2010 11 comments

This is my 6 min 53 seconds of of live TV. Quite a fascinating experience actually, from arrival, to getting made up, and then sitting in the studio for the live cross.

I have to say, when I watched this I cringed, so I’ll leave the rest of the watching up to you guys. 🙂

You can watch it here.

Till next time..

Interview 4.0

October 15, 2010 2 comments

I have had the opportunity for a follow up interview on Radio Rhema this week. The interview took place on Wednesday, but aired this morning. The discussion was mainly along the lines of catching up where things are at, looking at why I have chosen to finish my medical studies, the effects chemotherapy has on me, and also just commenting on the responses that I often get when people hear my news.

I think it’s worth having a listen to.. but then I’m probably biased :-).

You can listen to it here.

Interview 3.0

I’ve recently had another interview air on the radio.

This time the station is Life FM, and the interview takes a slightly different tac than previous interviews. The tempo is a bit faster, its a bit more aggressive, and covers almost the same amount of topic in 1/4 of the time. I guess this reflects the different audience/demographic that Life FM tries to hit.

Anyway, if you are interested, have a listen and let me know what you think :-).

Thanks for listening.

Interviews 2.0

On Tuesday this week I was interviewed for a second time on Radio Rhema, which aired this morning. For those who would like to hear it, I have posted the link to the Rhema website where it is available.

The interview is about 30 minutes total, split into four slots. So only listen when you have the time :-). This interview was really a followup from my previous one, and focused on a few different aspects being four months on. Namely, we discussed cancer and its effect on my life, which I have reflected here on this blog, as well as its effect on Hannah and how we deal with the diagnosis on a daily basis.

If you didn’t hear the previous interview back in December, you can hear it by clicking HERE.

Peter Shaw is very generous in his introduction of me, for which I am grateful, and to be honest, simultaneously a little uncomfortable. When people describe me using words like ‘amazing’ and ‘courage’, which I do get to a reasonable extent, I’m always hesitant to accept such labels. I’m usually quick to point out that I’m none of those things, I’m just a fellow human, like the rest of us, with an unfortunate set of circumstances. Adjectives used to describe me like this I believe are better applied to the source of my faith. The reality is, none of how I respond is on my own strength, its through God’s grace alone that I am able to be the person that I am, I take no credit for that.

Never underestimate the love or the grace of Christ, its what makes the world go round…

…and keeps me ticking.

Thanks for listening.

NZone Interview

March 18, 2010 5 comments

I was interviewed earlier in the year for a TV programme called NZone on Shine TV. I realise that most people either don’t have access to watching it on sky (channel 111), and those that do have sky, probably don’t know shine exists. 🙂

So for those of you that missed its screening two weeks ago, here it is in all its glory, in two parts.

Warning: High level of faith based content follows 🙂
